Personal Chef

In the 2nd grade, at the age of 7, I wrote a paper entitled: “I WANT TO BE CHEF”. That pretty much started the whole thing rolling.

I graduated from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, NY in 1995, and my first positions were cooking for A-list celebrities on various movie locations throughout the country. Since then I have traveled with and cooked for many affluent families in New York City, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Baltimore, and Washington DC.

Along the way, I adopted a healthy lifestyle that spun out of control to a full-blown fitness career.

I moved back home to Maryland after five years in New York City and my job as private chef to various celebrities. After many years of going about things the wrong way, I had ended up squishy. I wasn’t fat or heavy, mind you, I was SQUISHY. That’s the perfect word. Squishy means just that, a soft place that should be harder…where was the muscle?

I had bouts with anorexia when I was 21 and 22 years old. Let me put it this way, I would run 10 miles a day and eat a salad. One salad. There was also a time when I was painfully shy. Yes, you read that correctly. I was painfully shy. Those are some not-very-well-known facts about me. Now you know, and it’s how I know that anything is possible. Anything is possible if you want it badly enough, and here is the proof: Those days of not understanding how to manage this gift of health and an able body are long gone.
